YOUR FREE TIME

Every week there are organised social and cultural activities such as dinners, excursions, visits to the museums, etc, which allow each student to get to know other students as well as Spanish people to be able to practice what they learn in class.

It has various areas for any free time: the enclosed patio and the two reception areas have tables and chairs; there are machines for refreshment including coffee, notice boards, etc.

Typical activities

1) TAPAS: to welcome you to the Spanish course and introduce you to the other students we take you for tapas (traditional Spanish dishes) in a typical bar in Dénia.  The location of the bar changes according to the time of year. 
PRICE: First dish and drink free.

2) MUSEUMS: so that you can get to know the local culture we offer trips to the history and toy museums in Dénia.  Here you can get a feel for life in the 40’s and 50’s.  PRICE: Free.

3) DANCE: a little Latin American culture is also very interesting and what better experience than dancing salsa!  We are lucky enough to have someone at our school with salsa in their blood. PRICE: Free.

4) CASTLE: we take students to visit Dénia Castle so that they can appreciate the amazing views and see the archaeological remains and the museum. 
PRICE: 2.55 € per person.

5) VOLLEYBALL AND BEACH BARS:

The summer is for open-air activities and in Dénia, we have 16km of beach.  We play volleyball and then have a cold drink in the beach bar.
PRICE: Free – buy your own drinks.

6) DRINKS: In Dénia, summer nights are long and we want our students to enjoy themselves learning about our culture.  For this reason, we take you for a drink and show you where the local attractions are.
PRICE: first drink free.

7) SCHOOL CINEMA: in winter, there are days when you want to stay at home watching a film and eating snacks.  We offer this opportunity in the company of other students and a Spanish teacher.
PRICE: Free.

8) MARKET: at midday on Fridays outside the “mercat” (suppliers market), the market sellers meet to sell their produce at the best prices.  Our aim is that the students, accompanied by a Spanish teacher, learn vocabulary, practise what they have learnt in class and get to know new products.
PRICE: Free.

9) EXCURSIONS (Montgó, Torre del Gerro,…): from Dénia you have the opportunity to visit our local “Montgó” mountain and other interesting tourist areas.  We encourage our students to take part in these activities. 
PRICE: free (or 1€ per person by bus).

10) BOAT TRIP: this is a beautiful trip to different harbours along the coast such as Javea, Calpe, etc.  It is amazing to see the marvellous views and the contrast between mountains and sea.
PRICE: approx. 15€ per person.

11) CINEMA ON THE BEACH: during the month of August on the beach called Marineta Cassiana, you can see films.  This is a good opportunity to listen to Spanish and we can recommend that our students pay a visit here.
